FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: use: for low-temperature local loading of oil-and-gas pipeline section with acoustic-emission method of non-destructive testing. Summary of invention consists in the fact that section of oil and gas pipeline is selected for conducting acoustic emission monitoring, where two acoustic emission converters are installed, wherein the distance between them is determined by the technical characteristics of the acoustic emission system and standard documents, local elastic deformation of the oil and gas pipeline is created between them, acoustic emission signals are recorded, by parameters of which presence of defect in material and welded joints of oil and gas pipeline is determined, wherein creation of elastic deformation of local section of oil and gas pipeline is achieved due to low-temperature cooling of surface of this section with solid carbon dioxide, due to sublimation of solid carbon dioxide at minus 72 °C.

EFFECT: technical result is higher reliability of detecting defects and efficiency of non-destructive inspection in acoustic-emission method of diagnosing oil and gas pipelines, as well as providing fire safety and safety for human health.
