FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for determination of safe operation period of fiberglass pipelines. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that preliminary study of the monitoring object - pipeline, installation of acoustic emission transducers on the pipeline surface, monitoring by smooth stepped pressure loading at level of 0.5 * Pop, 0.75 * Pop, 1.0 * Rts and Rts, where Pop is the permitted operating pressure, Rts is the test pressure, the acoustic emission signal propagation speed calculation, the data accumulation, processing and analysis, evaluation of control results by classification of acoustic emission sources to source of class I - passive source, source of class II - active source, source of class III - critically active source, source of class IV - catastrophically active source. When inspecting fiberglass plastic pipelines, low frequency is used - in range of 40-80 kHz and higher - in range of 100-200 kHz, and measurements are carried out with holding time at intermediate steps of 6 minutes, after evaluating control results of classification of acoustic emission sources determining the period of safe operation of fiberglass pipelines depending on detected source of acoustic emission, when detecting a Class I source, the safe operation period is determined to be from 5.1 to 10 years, if the Class II source is identified, the safe operation period is determined to be 1.1 to 5 years, when detecting a class III source, the safe operation period is determined to be no more than 1 year; if the source of Class IV is detected, immediate removal of the pipeline from operation and replacement of damaged sections of the pipeline is recommended.
EFFECT: possibility of determining the safe operation period of fiberglass pipelines.
