FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determination of elastic inertial and dissipative properties of specimens from solid materials and can be used in investigation of their physical and mechanical properties. When implementing the method, oscillations of the sample are excited by harmonic action in the range of lower and medium frequencies, recording amplitude-frequency characteristics of the samples and detecting their spectrum of oscillations, harmonic oscillations of the sample are excited at a given frequency and a curve of damped oscillations is detected, digital processing of said curve enables to determine amplitude values of vibro-displacement (Ai) and decrement of oscillations for the jth natural frequency.
EFFECT: possibility of determining decrement for any natural frequency of the investigated range of low and medium frequencies and application for a wide range of solid materials.
