FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of experimental research of energy scattering characteristics and may be used in research of dynamic characteristics, strength and stability of structures and materials. In the proposed method they excite oscillations of an investigated object, record resonant frequencies and a kinematic parameter at the resonant frequencies, then by means of a variation of frequency of the driving force they reduce the kinematic parameter to the selected value, they fix it and the appropriate frequency of oscillations. According to the experimental values of frequencies and values of the kinematic parameter they calculate logarithmic decrements of oscillations.
EFFECT: simplified performance of the research process.
