FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, specifically to a method for determining movement of a subject. Disclosed is a system which includes a machine-readable medium, as well as a device for realizing the method, comprising an accelerometer for obtaining accelerometric data indicating movement of a subject body; and a processing device for determining movement of the subject. Device is configured to perform the following steps: obtaining accelerometric data indicating the subject body movement; performing high-pass filtering on accelerometric data to obtain upper-frequency filtered accelerometric data; selecting at least one of the orthogonal motion components from the accelerometer filtered high-frequency data using the source separation technique; performing low-pass filtering on accelerometric data to obtain low-pass filtered data of an accelerometer; determining a gravitational component from accelerometer filtered on upper frequencies; comparison of direction of at least one of said orthogonal components of motion with direction of gravitational component and classification of movement of subject as movement, if component of motion is orthogonal or parallel to gravitational component.

EFFECT: group of inventions enables accurate determination of movement of a subject, particularly during very slow walking of a subject.
