APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING AND/OR MONITORING AN INDIVIDUAL'S RESPIRATORY EFFORT Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B5/08

Abstract RU 2720668 C2

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: device for determining and/or monitoring respiratory effort of a subject comprises at least one electromyographic pad for measuring an electromyographic signal of a subject, having the possibility of being placed in the second intercostal space and containing the first and second electrodes arranged symmetrically relative to the subject's sternum. Accelerometer sensor is located above the electric contact area of the electromyographic pad with skin of the subject at a distance from the said area. Receiving unit serves to receive a postural signal of a subject, a respiratory signal of the subject and an electromyographic signal of the subject. Processing unit is designed to determine the electromyographic signal based on the received postural signal and the received respiratory signal and to obtain the value of respiratory effort based on a certain electromyographic signal proportional to the respiratory effort. What is disclosed is an electromyographic pad, a method for determining and/or monitoring respiratory effort of a subject and a computer-readable carrier.

EFFECT: technical result is reduced reproducibility of measurements and avoiding erroneous clinical interpretation.
