FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines fuel supply systems. Disclosed is fuel injector (10), primarily a fuel injector for a common rail system having housing (11) inserted into first portion (107) of a mounting hole in an internal combustion engine (ICE) and having in the mounted position combustion chamber (101) facing combustion chamber (101) first section (12), which is at least partially in contact with combustion chamber (101). First section (12) of fuel nozzle housing is made of metal and radially surrounded by protective element (20) in form of protective bushing (21), which passes at least on part of axial length of this first section (12) of housing of fuel injector. Transition zone between protective sleeve (21) and first section (12) of the fuel injector housing is made sealed with the side of this protective sleeve (21) facing combustion chamber (101), for which in the transition zone there is connection (30) with material closure in the form of soldered connection (31) or welded joint (33).
EFFECT: invention improves the seal between the fuel nozzle housing and the protective element from the side facing the combustion chamber.
