SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to analysis of hydrocarbon-containing media by means of cyclone separation. Disclosed is a method of analyzing a hydrocarbon-containing fluid, which includes: feeding hydrocarbon-containing fluid medium into cyclone separator; separation of hydrocarbon-containing fluid medium into gas phase sample and liquid phase sample by means of cyclone separator; separating a sample of the liquid phase into an aqueous sample and a non-aqueous sample; estimating the volume of the sample of the gas phase, wherein estimating the volume of the sample of the gas phase includes adjusting the volume of the sample of the gas phase based on the gas composition; evaluation of non-aqueous sample volume and evaluation of condensate-gas ratio of hydrocarbon-containing fluid medium, wherein the condensate-gas ratio of the hydrocarbon-containing fluid medium is the ratio of the volume of the non-aqueous sample to the volume of the gas phase sample. Also disclosed is a device for analyzing a hydrocarbon-containing fluid.
