FIELD: processing of materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to material processing, in particular, to methods of electric spark hardening of surfaces of parts from current conducting materials. Proposed method comprises feeding pulse and current to electrode and article, rotate electrode about its own axis, press electrode tip at an angle to article surface and move it relative to processed article. A constant potential difference is additionally created between the article and the electrode, wherein the anode used is an electrode, and the cathode is a treated article.
EFFECT: invention provides higher transfer of electrode metal to machined surface due to additional constant potential of electrostatic field.
