SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrophysical methods for processing materials, in particular, to electrospark doping, and can be used in engineering and repair production to obtain wear-resistant coatings on parts of friction units and fixed joints. Method of electrospark coating on the surface of the part includes surface treatment of the part with an electrode when applying process and auxiliary current pulses, the auxiliary current pulse serves on the interelectrode gap formed by the end of the electrode and the surface of the workpiece, at the time of contact of the electrode with the surface of the workpiece, the end of the electrode is removed from the surface of the workpiece to a distance of 15 mcm by applying an auxiliary current pulse with an energy of 0.05–1.5 J and a duration of 5–100 mcs, and the technological current pulse is supplied at the time of the end of the auxiliary current pulse. Device for electrospray coating on the surface of the part is also proposed.
EFFECT: invention provides a reduction in the energy loss of a technological current pulse, an increase in the thickness of the coating, and a simplified design of the manual working member.
