FIELD: metal working, applicable for application of metal platings onto other materials. SUBSTANCE: method is accomplished in conditions of initiation of spark discharges between electrode-anode and part-cathode with superposition of periodic series of exciting electric current onto an acoustic system with the electrode-anode fastened at its end so that pulsed ultrasonic vibrations consisting of stages of forced and damped vibrations would be formed at the electrode-anode; repetition frequency of series of oscillations of electric current is matched with frequency of initiation of spark charges, the origin of pulses of ultrasonic vibrations of the electrode being brought into coincidence with the moment of spark charge, and the duration of pulse action, including both stages, being put in the interval between spark charges. EFFECT: enhanced erosion of electrode, which provides for qualitative sputtering of alloying material, effects packing deforming action on the applied layer of plating, improving the diffusion process of penetration of alloying elements with formation of intermetallic compounds and other non-equilibrium fine-grained metallic systems. 2 cl, 3 dwg, 1 tbl
