FIELD: gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to operation of underground natural gas storages created in water-bearing formation or in depleted gas beds with active edge water. Disclosed is a method comprising a cyclic mode of pumping natural gas through wells into a gas-containing formation and extraction of gas from the same wells with preliminary creation of a rim for reducing penetration of formation water into the gas part of the underground gas storage. Of fine water-gas mixture is pumped into wells. This fringe is further moved through the formation by gas by pumping gas into wells. A rim of such fine water-gas mixture is used so that during pumping it is provided for its movement to the zones of the formation remote from the injection well with its accelerated movement along the formation roof and alignment of the displacement front along the vertical section of the gas storage in the zone of the injection well. At pressure reduction during operation of gas storage, such extraction and such growth of bubbles in formation in formation bottom zone are ensured that they block movement of water in the above zone of formation.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of underground gas storage.
