SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and apparatus for preventing a terminal from reacting to unintentional contact. Method comprises obtaining information on ambient lighting brightness; determining the position of the terminal housing when the brightness of the external illumination is less than the brightness threshold value; and switching touch-sensitive mode when terminal position is an inverted position.

EFFECT: technical result consists in preventing the terminal from reacting to unintentional contact.
