FIELD: passive fire protection methods.
SUBSTANCE: proposed technical solution relates to cable penetration and can be used to provide passive fire protection of cable facilities and other building structures at nuclear and thermal power plants. Cable penetration is rockwool filler which is at least partially filled the hole depth of 150 to 250 mm in a building structure, wherein the filler has a density of not less than 35 kg/m3 and covered outside with fireproof coating applied also on at least, one cable on each side outside the hole, wherein filler in places of cable attachment inside hole is coated with fire-resistant sealant, and fire resistance of coating depending on depth of hole, thickness of coating and length of coating on cable corresponds to certain range of parameters.
EFFECT: providing the required fire resistance limits, simplifying the design and installation, as well as enlarging the range of equipment – cable penetrations.
