FIELD: passive fire protection methods.
SUBSTANCE: proposed technical solution relates to cable penetration and can be used to provide passive fire protection of cable facilities and other building structures at nuclear and thermal power plants. Cable penetration is a rockwool filler, which at least partially filled with space section with length of 150 to 250 mm in metal box, or tray, or similar, wherein filler has density of not less than 150 kg/m3 and is coated on ends with fire-proof coating also applied on at least one cable on each side outside section, wherein filler in places of cable attachment within section is coated with fire-resistant sealant, wherein fire resistance of coating depending on length of section, thickness of coating and length of coating on cable corresponds to certain ranges of parameters.
EFFECT: providing the required fire resistance limits, simplifying the design and installation, as well as enlarging the range of equipment – cable penetrations.
