FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines. Piston (1) of internal combustion engine includes skirt (2), head (3) and belt (4) of piston wheels. Skirt comprises first contact area (Z2) of piston in mating part. Piston ring belt comprises three bridges (11, 12, 13) and three grooves (14, 15, 16) intended for installation of rings. Links (11, 12, 13) comprise at least one contact jumper (12), diameter (D12) of which is greater than minimum diameter (D2) of skirt (2), to form a second contact area (Z4) of piston in mating part. Contact bridge (12) contains surface-coating (20) reducing friction. Coating (20) covers at least a radial sector covering the angle of at least 30 degrees to one sector covering angle of 360 degrees. Disclosed are a thermal engine, a method of coating a piston, a method of implementing a thermal engine.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of wear and risk of jamming piston.
