FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed composite piston with antifriction coating for internal combustion engine has crown with antifriction coating and grooves for compression and oil control rings and skirt with profiled oval-barrel shaped working surface. Piston is furnished with insert made of fibrous material corresponding to size of piston crown and consisting of two parts one of which is located in piston crown, fibers of material being orientated square to piston crown. Second part has size not exceeding size of grooves for compression rings, its fibers being orientated parallel to piston crown. Geometric parameters of crown and skirt are provided. Antifriction coating can be made on fire belt in form of high-temperature organosilicon coating, and on piston skirt, in form of epoxy phenolic coating.
EFFECT: improved strength characteristics of piston.
