SUBSTANCE: side surface of piston head and skirt is barrel-shaped in which Ho/Dp= 0,54...0,78, and Hd/Dp= 0,058-0,103 where Dp is nominal diameter of piston, Ho is distance from piston bottom to nominal diameter zone and Hd is height of heat dam. Head and skirt of piston are oval in horizontal section. Smaller axis of piston head oval lies in plane of piston axis parallel to axis of piston pin at Δo/Dp-(0,8-1,4)10-3 where Δo is difference between sizes of larger and smaller axes of oval of piston head horizontal section. Invention contains relationships to which vertical profile of head and skirt is made. EFFECT: reduced mechanical losses in piston-liner pair, reduced oil burning losses, toxicity of exhaust gases and engine noise, increased engine economy and service life of cylinder-piston group. 5 cl, 5 dwg
