METHOD FOR ASSESSING HAND FINE MOTOR SKILLS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B5/00 A61B5/11 G09B9/00

Abstract RU 2717365 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to physical training, and can be used for assessment of fine motor skills. Reverse hand gestures representing opposing combinations of bent and straightened fingers are recorded to random gestures displayed on the computer terminal. Reaction time is recorded for each gesture recorded by the test operator by pressing a button of the computer terminal, upon completion of which the total test passage time and the angular coefficient of the approximating direct consecutive time intervals spent on the gestures are calculated. Conclusion is made by results of comparison of obtained numerical values with standard indices. Testing is carried out using gestures of both hands. For the reaction, a gesture of either a right or a left hand is presented in a random order. Grades of difficulty for each gesture are determined by calculating time spent on gestures of left and right hands. Ratio of time spent on gestures of the left hand to time spent on gestures of the right hand is calculated.

EFFECT: method enables to assess fine motor performance with high reliability by an available method without complex specific devices by conducting a test based on recording the hand gesture and mathematical and statistical analysis of the results.
