FIELD: transport machinery.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry. Device for increasing engagement of locomotive driving wheels with rails comprises electromagnets connected to current source and connected with balancers, which, in their turn, are connected with axles of wheel pairs. Balancer with one end is connected to bogie frame, one of ends of each of balancer is located near wheel rim with clearance relative to wheel rim, opposite end of each of balancer is located near rail with clearance relative to rail. Balancer are connected with bogie frame and axle box with non-magnetic fastener, there is electromagnet arranged on balance beam and oriented along wheel disc. Device also includes a longitudinal acceleration sensor mounted at the end of each balancing device, a measuring unit, a statistical signal analyzer, a bandpass filter, a rectifier, a comparator unit, a setpoint unit, an OR logic element and a switch.
EFFECT: as a result, higher efficiency of locomotive, reduced power consumption for traction due to reduction of losses caused by eddy currents.
