FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry, specifically to a method of producing hydroxylamine sulphate (HAS), used as one of the main reagents in the production of caprolactam. Method of producing HAS involves oxidation of ammonia to obtain nitroso gas, obtaining therefrom nitrogen oxide (II) and nitrate condensate, part of which is directed to obtain 19–25 % sulfuric acid, and the other part is hydrogenated in excess hydrogen in two reaction zones (15a) and (15b) at temperature of 85–90 °C and high pressure in the presence of a finely dispersed "platinum on graphite" catalyst to obtain a gas mixture of nitrogen (II) oxide and hydrogen, which is fed directly to synthesis stage of HAS (14), which is obtained by hydrogenating nitrogen oxide (II) with hydrogen at a molar ratio of nitrogen (II) : hydrogen equal to 1:(1.5–1.9), in medium of 19–25 wt% sulfuric acid in the presence of a finely dispersed catalyst "platinum on graphite” at temperature of 30–70 °C and pressure of 1–4 atm.
EFFECT: method provides explosion-proof process control, increases conversion of nitric acid at the hydrogenation stage to 95 %, simplifies the process and controls the process.
