FIELD: industrial organic synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: production of hydroxylamine sulfate comprises catalytic oxidation of ammonia in mixture with oxygen and water stream. Resulting nitroso gas is mixed with hydrogen and its composition is stabilized by hydrogenation up to 70-75 vol % of oxygen, after which resulting medium is concentrated via two-stage water vapor condensation, freed of nitrogen dioxide, mixed with hydrogen, mixture of sulfuric acid, water, first-stage concentration condensate, and catalyzate followed by synthesis of hydroxylamine sulfate. Catalyzate formed during catalytic hydrogenation of nitric acid contained in second-stage concentration condensate is utilized to dilute sulfuric acid. Pure nitrogen oxide formed in catalytic hydrogenation of nitric acid is passed in mixture with hydrogen to one of the hydroxylamine sulfate synthesis reactors. Such organization of process enables additional production of up to 2.4% of nitrogen oxide, increase of yield of hydroxylamine sulfate by up to 3%, and decreased losses of hydrogen and nitrogen oxide with emission gases.
