FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is method of vehicle operation. Vehicle is slowed down by switching drive system into free running mode in response to required torque less than threshold, vehicle speed greater than threshold, and motion conditions not indicative of expected braking by the driver within a predetermined portion of the vehicle path. Motion conditions are determined using a range finder. Invention covers also method of vehicle operation and vehicle braking control system.
EFFECT: improvement of vehicle braking is achieved.
