SUBSTANCE: silicon-containing polymers containing monomer link A in accordance with formula (I)

In said monomer link, R can be independently selected from a group consisting of hydrogen, C_1-20 alkyl, C_1-20 alkenyl, C_6-12 aryl, C_7-20 aralkyl, ion of group I metal, II group metal ion and NR'₄⁺; where R' is independently selected from a group consisting of hydrogen, C_1-20 alkyl, C_1-20 alkenyl, C_6-12 aryl and C_7-20 aralkyl; and where R' is independently unsubstituted, hydroxy-substituted or beta-hydroxy-substituted or is a mixture in any proportion of any of said groups. Each of R¹ and R² can independently represent H or C_1-6 alkyl. T can be a direct bond or an organic linking group containing from about 1 to about 20 carbon atoms.

EFFECT: invention relates to silicon-containing polymers and compositions containing such polymers capable of flocculating suspended solid substances in a process stream of Bayer or sintering.
