FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for cleaning water and gas streams from particles contained in them, having ferro-, para- and diamagnetic properties, and can be used in nuclear and thermal power engineering, chemical and food industries, metallurgy, in medicine, chemical and other industries, where similar processes are used. High-gradient magnetic filter with rigid matrix includes cylindrical housing from non-magnetic corrosion-resistant material with inlet and outlet branch pipes, magnetic system located outside the housing, matrix of corrosion-resistant material, located inside the housing on the path of the cleaned liquid or gas flow, comprising at least one metallic corrosion-resistant wire filter element configured to form high magnetic field gradients, in the form of a non-magnetic wire base of a given diameter, additionally having wire winding in form of spring or wire rings fixed on it. Wire used for placement on wire base has preferred diameter in range of 20–60 mcm and can be made of magnetically soft or magnetically rigid material. Wire base has diameter in range of 300–1,200 mcm. Metal wire filter element can be made in the form of mesh of different braiding, or rods of specified length, or metal wool, or chaotically or ordered wound coils of wire. Specific design of the filter element is selected based on parameters of the cleaned process medium.
EFFECT: high efficiency of cleaning process media from ferro-, para- and diamagnetic impurities.
