SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a receiving device which superimposes and displays subtitles and graphic data on video. Disclosed is a method of superimposing subtitles (graphic data) on video and displaying them in the best way. Container is received in preset format, wherein container includes video stream containing video data, and subtitle stream containing subtitle data. Video stream is decoded to obtain video data. Subtitle stream is decoded to produce bitmap subtitle data. Correction process of at least one of the subtitle size and the subtitle display position and the bitmap subtitle data is performed. Bitmapped subtitle data of subtitles are processed onto video data for displaying video data.
EFFECT: technical result is possibility to impose and display subtitles (graphic image) on video.
