FIELD: clocks and other time meters; chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: clock component (1) contains a dry, self-lubricating surface layer (2) completely consisting of boric acid with thickness of 50 nm to 1 mcm. Method of applying coating on clock component (1) with self-lubricating surface layer (2) includes following stages: granular or powdered boric acid H3BO3 is dissolved at ambient temperature in a solution, such as water, isopropanol, propanol, methanol, methyl-propanol, ethylene glycol, glycerol, acetone, etc., in ratio of 0.01 to 1.0 wt %, stirring and shaking the solution, dipping coated component (1) into said solution, extracting the component from the solution and allowing the liquid phase to evaporate, surface, on which surface layer (2) is formed, is kept at a distance from any foreign objects until evaporation is completed, stages of dipping and evaporation are repeated until a layer of the required thickness of 10 nm to 1 mcm is obtained, or more specifically, from 50 nm to 1 mcm.
EFFECT: clock component with improved self-lubricant is proposed.
