FIELD: testing of welded joints.

SUBSTANCE: essence of the invention consists in the fact that the method of inspecting welded joints involves placing, on one side from the welded joint of the control object of the X-ray source, with the possibility of movement relative to the welded joint, placing on the other side from the welded joint of the X-ray detector receiving object with possibility of movement relative to the weld joint, obtaining, from an X-ray detector, an image formed when X-ray radiation passes from an X-ray source through a welded joint of a test object, plotting a X-ray intensity distribution diagram on an image and determining therefrom the X-ray intensity maximum position on the image, further correcting the position of the X-ray receiver such that the X-ray intensity maximum on the image coincides with the center of the X-ray detector image.

EFFECT: increased automation and efficiency of welded joints control process.
