FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a dental unit and a method of operation of the decontamination system. Dental unit (1) comprises water circuit (13) supplying drinking water from point (12) of inlet to tools (14), support for which is tool table (4). Apparatus (1) comprises a decontamination system. Decal lock system comprises valve (16) arranged in water circuit (13) to feed water to tools (14) arranged on tool table (4). Valve opens or closes by automatic program (30) when it is open, it directs water from circuit (13) into line (17a or 17b) of decongestant tap, leading to drainage (18) of dental unit, causing receipt of new drinking water into said water circuit. Method of operation of the decontaminate system comprises calculating, using automatic program (30), a time interval, which has passed since the last use of at least water supplying tool (14, 21), support for which is tool table (4). Method includes determination of programmable duration and programmed periodicity of opening using automatic program (30). Method comprises activation of decongestant valve (16) with said programmed duration and programmable periodicity of opening using automatic program (30).

EFFECT: technical result is effective water replacement in water ducts in dental units to prevent congestion and achieve better microbial quality of water supplied by dental unit into oral cavity of patient.
