FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determination of residual stresses in material of products structure at various stages of their life cycle and can be used in machine building technologies, including after production of: quality of curing of polymer composite materials, production of permanent joints by welding, selective laser fusion and plasma sputtering, as well as in other operating technologies associated with phase transformations and plastic deformation in molding and structure formation of articles. Mechanical loads of different level are applied to the object to be diagnosed, and its surface is exposed to a high-speed hydraulic jet or a low-abrasive jet of the suspension. By analyzing the results of hydroerosion destruction of the surface layer of the sample at different loading levels, the value of residual stresses is calculated from a relationship which takes into account at least two loading levels of the analyzed material.
EFFECT: expansion of functional capabilities of physical and technological action on material, for example controlled mechanical loading for determination of level of residual stresses of the first kind in local areas of surface layer of material of products at various stages of life cycle, including beyond warranty periods of operation of structures of critical facilities with simplification of method, reduced labor input and higher accuracy of determining residual stresses.
