FIELD: testing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of monitoring and diagnostics of structural materials, in particular aggregate of ballistic properties of structural ceramics, which is the part of the body armour facilities, connected primarily with the hardness, strength and fracture strength, and can be used at the preliminary stages of the technological process of manufacturing of body armour products in order to choose rapidly the materials among available on the market and produced by different companies-manufacturers. The method of diagnostics of quality of structural materials comprises exposing to the test sample with the stream of fluid under pressure of 350-380 MPa at a velocity of 800-850 m/s. And on the test sample one or several acoustic emission sensors are mounted, and the parameters of the acoustic emission are recorded during the exposure time of the stream of fluid. The quality evaluation of the structural material of the sample is carried out by comparing the relative values of the mass material carry-over and the acoustic emission parameters with the corresponding characteristics of the reference sample or with the available values of previously diagnosed samples.

EFFECT: reduction of labour intensity of the study, increase in accuracy of rapid evaluation of erosion properties of materials, capability enhancement of exposure of high energy stream for the procedure of diagnostics of structural materials contained, in particular, in the body armour facilities.
