FIELD: agricultural engineering.
SUBSTANCE: picker comprises selection section, which determines selection direction and includes gripping element adapted for root crops selection, and at least one cleaning element adapted for cleaning of root crops selected by said gripping element, and intermediate section retaining selection section. Gripping element determines the selection position, in which the root crops are selected by this gripping element, relative to the selection plane. Intermediate section comprises first and second parts, wherein selection section is attached to said first part. Pick-up device comprises cleaning adjustment means, including hinge connecting said first and second parts of intermediate section with possibility of their rotation, and configured to adjust the position of the cleaning element between at least two different cleaning positions by turning the first part of the intermediate section relative to the second part of the intermediate section around said hinge. In each cleaning position, when the gripping element is in the pick-up position, the distance from the cleaning element to the selection plane differs from the distance from the cleaning element to the selection plane in the other cleaning position.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and reliability of the pickup.
