FIELD: knitted production.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of knitted production, namely to methods of knitted fabric width change at manual or machine knitting of knitwear by single-piece smooth curling, which can be used in knitting seamless skirts, dresses, sleeves of products, and other seamless and stitched products with conical shape. According to the method, in the web the stitches are determined, which affect the web width change, the number of loops in these stitches is calculated, each such stitch line is divided into an even number of sections with the estimated number of loops in the section. Sections are used to determine places in said loop rows for making additions and decreases of loops, wherein points are set in accordance with four values, which are cyclically and sequentially by one value assigned to each such loop line, namely the first value "at the end of even sections", the second value "at the end of odd sections", the third value "at the beginning of odd sections", the fourth value "at the beginning of even sections". Thus, a cycle zone is formed vertically, including at least four loop rows influencing the width of the web, each of which has a place for performing actions to change the number of loops in two adjacent sections – even and odd. Cloth is knitted by repeating the cycle zone horizontally, i. e. over the entire width of the web.
