SUBSTANCE: invention refers to treating hyperhidrosis in a subject. Disclosed is use of composition containing composition with immediate release of approximately 1 to 10 mg of oxybutynin or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt and an immediate-delayed release formulation of about 1 to 10 mg of pilocarpine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, comprising a plurality of immediate-delayed release pilocarpine granules, where each pilocarpine granule contains a nucleus; a first layer placed over the core, comprising pilocarpine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, a polymer and a viscosity reducing agent or a glidant; and a second layer located on top of the first layer, comprising at least one polymer selected from a group consisting of hydroxypropyl cellulose, ethyl cellulose, dibutyl sebacate and combinations thereof, in treating hyperhidrosis in a subject and reducing a dry mouth effect due to oxybutynin.
EFFECT: invention provides reduced side effect in form of dry mouth due to muscarinic receptor antagonist with no increase in perspiration in subjects.
