FIELD: electric traction systems.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the vehicles electrical traction systems. Device for power control of electric locomotive with traction DC motors includes control unit and control unit for disconnection and connection of traction motors. Control unit includes field attenuation contactor and contactor of start-up resistors, linear and equalizing contactors, three actuating relays for disconnection and connection of traction motors, intermediate relay with delay time for disconnection. Control unit is made in the form of onboard computer, which inputs are connected to outputs of traction force sensors, speed of electric locomotive, voltage and current of traction motors, and output by means of analogue-to-digital converter and digital signal amplifier is connected to control relay. Control relay contacts are connected to the intermediate circuit of the control unit.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of control accuracy by maintaining higher operating efficiency for electric locomotive traction.
