FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines. Exhaust system (1) of automotive internal combustion engine (3) comprises left exhaust path (5) and right outlet path (7). Each exhaust path includes inlet of channel (51, 71) for intake of exhaust gases and outlet hole (53, 73) of exhaust gases into atmosphere and connecting branch pipe (55, 75) between supply of path and outlet (53, 73) into atmosphere. Left connecting pipe (55) and the right connecting pipe (75) form connecting unit (9), forming the common connecting hole (91) for transfer of exhaust gases between paths (5, 7). Exhaust system is equipped with valve (93) for opening or closing connection hole (91). Connecting pipes (55, 75) are bent at an angle and/or arc. Pipe assembly (9) has crosshairs. Connecting pipe assembly (9) forms a single connection for transfer of exhaust gases between exhaust paths (5, 7). Connecting hole (91) limits the mixing area, which is 0.25–4.0 times or 0.75–1.5 times greater than or equal to the conditional area for calculations, determined by the cross-sectional area of the left and/or right outlet path (5, 7) or their connecting branch pipes (55, 75). Invention discloses automotive internal combustion engine exhaust system.

EFFECT: technical result consists in suppression of noise emitted by system and increase in engine efficiency.
