FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in supercharged internal combustion engines. Supercharged internal combustion engine comprises at least two turbochargers operating from exhaust gases, cylinders (3) and at least one cylinder head. At least two cylinders (3) are arranged in a row along the longitudinal axis of the cylinder head. Cylinder head is configured to be connected to the cylinder block at the edge of the assembly unit. Each cylinder (3) comprises at least two exhaust outlets (4a), (4b) for releasing exhaust gases. At least one of said outlets is designed as an activated outlet (4a). Exhaust line (5a), (5b) is connected to each outlet (4a), (4b). Exhaust lines (5a) of activated outlets (4a) of at least two cylinders (3) are connected to form first exhaust manifold (6a) to form a first common exhaust line connected to the turbine of the first turbocharger. Exhaust lines (5b) of other outlets (4b) of at least two cylinders (3) are connected to form second exhaust manifold (6b) to form a second common exhaust line connected to the turbine of the second turbocharger. Exhaust lines (5a), (5b) of at least two cylinders (3) are connected to form these two common exhaust lines within the cylinder head. One common exhaust line is located at the far side of the assembly unit of the side of the other common exhaust line. Two common exhaust lines are located along the longitudinal axis of the cylinder head to form spacing Δ. Method for operating a supercharged internal combustion engine is disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the volume of the pipe system between the cylinder outlets and the turbines.
