TRAINING OF MOUTH MUSCLES Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61N1/05 A61N1/36

Abstract RU 2719941 C2

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a device for transmucosal neuromuscular electrical stimulation and a method of training oral muscles by transmucosal neuromascular electrical stimulation. Device comprises a mouthpiece, an electrode means connected to the mouthpiece and an electric circuit. Electric circuit is functionally connected to electrode facility. Said mouthpiece comprises two branches with ledges. Branches are connected together at one end and diverge from each other. Protrusions extend inside from the branches, at that, the ledge contains electrode means connected to it. Electrode means is intended for increasing muscle tone at rest and tonus of muscles during sleep when electric stimulation is applied through the dorsal surface of the tongue by a method for increasing muscle tone at rest and tonus of muscles during sleep.

EFFECT: provided is a system of treatment applicable in active state of user, in which electric muscle stimulation is used to stimulate muscles of the tongue, palate, sensitive nerves to increase muscle strength and tone recovery by training the oral muscles in the wakefulness of the patient in order to increase muscular tonus in the patient's rest state during the treatment plan so that the apnea cases become less frequent, thereby achieving a stable reduction of disordered respiratory forms during sleep.
