FIELD: instrument engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a bidirectional mechanical conversion unit and to a screwdriver comprising said unit. Unit comprises a main screwdriver rod, a drive means connected to each other and a turning direction changing device, and a torque input means, turning axis of the turning means coaxial relative to the main rod, wherein the drive means comprises a spur gear, a driven gear wheel, an intermediate gear and a drift seat with an axis of the intermediate pinion, wherein intermediate gear is located on axis of intermediate gear with connection with gear transmission of cableline type and driven gear wheel for transmission and provision of rotation of gear transmission of cableline type and driven gear wheel in opposite directions, wherein the cableline gear or the driven gear wheel are configured to entrain the main rod for its rotation in a predetermined direction, wherein the predetermined direction can be changed by means of the turning direction changing device, the turning direction changing device comprises the one-way turns clutches, wherein, if input torque from rotation of input torque supply means is identical or opposite to predetermined direction, main rod is always configured to turn in a given direction by means of one-way turns.

EFFECT: technical result consists in simplicity of structure, efficient use of movement of turning means in any direction and ease of switching direction of rotation of output shaft by simple operations.
