SUBSTANCE: method includes: sending, by a terminal device, matrix dimension reduction matrix information to a network device, where the first dimension of the dimension reduction matrix is equal to the number of antenna ports of the transmission of the network device, and second dimension of dimension reduction matrix is less than first dimension of dimension reduction matrix; and sending, by the terminal device, the vector information of the equivalent channel eigenvector of the downlink to the network device, where the downlink equivalent channel vector is obtained based on a dimension reduction matrix, where the matrix information includes a dimension reduction matrix index, or matrix information includes information obtained by a terminal device by quantizing a dimension reduction matrix member; and the vector information includes a vector index of an eigenvector, or information of the vector includes information obtained by the terminal device by quantizing of an eigenvector element.

EFFECT: technical result is obtaining high-accuracy information on channel state.
