FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to out-patient infusion systems and devices used in certain therapeutic procedures, particularly in diabetes therapy. More specifically, the group of inventions relates to flow detectors and flow detection methods. Flow detector intended for detachable connection with the flow channel in the area of connection with the channel and recording the flow of the liquid medicinal agent in the flow passage contains: a downstream thermoelectric element and a downstream thermoelectric element spaced apart from each other with the possibility of being moved independently from each other in a direction transverse to the direction of the flow path; a downstream biasing member and a downstream biasing member, the upstream biasing member acting on the upstream thermoelectric element, causing upstream displacement of the thermoelectric element in the direction of the connection area with the channel, and the downstream biasing member acts on the downstream thermoelectric element, thereby causing displacement of the downstream thermoelectric element in the direction of the connection region with the channel irrespective of the downstream biasing member. Ambulatory infusion device comprises: a connecting part for a liquid device, intended for detachable connection in a working configuration with a mating part of a liquid device, containing flow passage channel; a pump drive assembly configured to supply a liquid medicament from the drug container through a flow passageway for insertion into the patient's body; pump control unit configured to control operation of the pump drive assembly for continuous administration of the drug with a time-varying rate in accordance with the basal infusion mode; flow detector according to one of claims. 1–11, functionally connected to the pump control unit. Method for performing a detachable connection of a flow detector with a flow passage for the purpose of detecting the flow of a liquid medicinal agent in that channel.
EFFECT: group of inventions enables direct measurement of flow parameters of the liquid medicinal agent.
