FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to production of self-supporting structures having open cells and including active material. In particular, self-sustained structures can be used in processes of separation and/or catalysis, for example, processes of short-cycle adsorption and other processes for increasing extraction of hydrocarbons. Method and system for producing and using self-supporting structure in processing unit for adsorption or catalytic processes. Self-sustained structure has more than 50 % by weight of active material in self-supporting structure to provide structure with open cells, providing access to active material. Self-sustaining structures which can be located in the processing unit can be used in processes of short-cycle adsorption and other processes to increase output of hydrocarbons.
EFFECT: invention enables combining self-supporting structures with open cells with adsorption or catalytic processes, for example, short-cycle adsorption processes to separate contaminants from the feed stream.
