SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for forming a wrapped container and comprises steps of: a) providing a base container having a first side seam on a side wall, which extends along a longitudinal axis to define an inner volume, and a bottom attached to the side wall; b) providing a side wall of the base container with connecting elements on the outer periphery of the side wall; c) providing a wrapper having a second side seam on the side wall of the base container, thus wrapping is connected with spaced relative position by means of connecting elements with side wall of base container; d) pressing the wrapper to the base container along the second side seam to form a first pressed region; e) pressing the wrapper to the base container in an area shifted by 180° from the second lateral seam to form a second pressed region; and f) converting the second pressed region to form a wrapped container having substantially the same gap and an air gap between the base container and the wrapper except for the first pressed region.

EFFECT: disclosed are a method and an apparatus for forming a wrapped container using pressing and converting.
