SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods of selecting one or more core samples and to a tool for sampling rock and fluid. Method of selecting one or more core samples includes steps of: obtaining one or more core samples from a collector using a rock sampling tool and a fluid, lowered to the well bottomhole, passing from the surface into the collector, wherein the sampling tool of the rock and the fluid contains a chamber filled with a hydrogen-free fluid medium; one or more core sample is placed into the chamber, wherein one or more core samples displace a portion of the hydrogen-free fluid, and one or more core sample is immersed in the hydrogen-free fluid, wherein the chamber comprises a space not occupied by one or more core samples and a hydrogen-free fluid medium; feeding gas into chamber for filling of unoccupied space; and sealing chamber by means of cover on chamber end.

EFFECT: technical result consists in preservation of initial properties of pore fluid media and rock in selected samples of core.
