SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, specifically to modulation of cerebral activity. An apparatus and a method for modulating brain activity by repeating transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) are disclosed, wherein the method involves collecting a set of EEG data from a mammal and analysing a set of EEG data by wavelet transformation. As a result, an EEG signal pattern is obtained, which is used to program an rTMS device for transmitting rTMS pulses, characterized by variable pulse intervals, wherein the maximum pulse intensity rTMS is below the motor threshold of the mammal. Programmable rTMS device for implementation of the method comprises a magnetic coil for rTMS pulses with variable pulse intervals.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides improved physiological or clinical state when performing repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation.
