FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of unlocking a fingerprint. Method is applied to an electronic device provided with a touch screen and a fingerprint sensor and capable of determining the pressure applied by the object to the touch screen, and the point of contact between the object and the touch screen; wherein fingerprint sensor is located in touch screen and forms area of response to fingerprint in corresponding position of touch screen; and the method includes: when it is detected that the pressure value exceeds a predetermined threshold, and the contact point is in the fingerprint response region, activating the fingerprint recognition function in the electronic device; collecting object texture information with a fingerprint sensor; comparing texture information with pre-stored reference fingerprint information; and when the comparison result indicates a match, the unlocking operation of the electronic device.

EFFECT: technical result is exclusion of cases of power consumption caused by system activation due to unintentional touch.
