SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an improved circuit breaker (1) for high-current or high-voltage applications, for example, for industrial and / or railway applications, where high current must be switched on / off or interrupted with high efficiency and very low intermediate period. Circuit breaker (1) comprises housing (10), which includes base (2), mechanism (3) for actuation of switching device, comprising retaining mechanism (20, 21) and release mechanism (40), intermediate part (4) with switching or interrupting contacts, which includes fixed contacts (5) and movable contacts (6), and upper part (7) with arc-quenching chamber, which closes intermediate part (4) with switching or interrupting contacts. Part (7) with breaker interrupter (1) arc-extinguishing chamber is movable relative to intermediate part (4) with switching or interrupting contacts and is equipped with external pole extensions (60), which are connected on both main sides of circuit breaker (1). Additional pole extensions (70) are electrically connected to external pole extensions (60), which are connected to intermediate part (4) with switching or interrupting contacts as fixed part of circuit breaker (1).
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of device.
