FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, namely to improved contactor (1) for high-current switching, used in industry or railway industry, where it is necessary to switch on and switch off strong direct current, wherein said contactor (1) includes main switching part (2), which includes electric switching means of high-voltage part (5), and arc-extinguishing part (3) covering said switching means. Advantageously, the contactor according to the invention comprises a pair of movable contacts (21, 22) moving towards each other and from each other relative to the mutual contact and abutment position, wherein said movable contacts (21, 22) of main switching part are installed on appropriate contact ends (23, 24) of crank linkage (30), activated by low-voltage drive part (4), built into main switching part and acting on elbow mechanism (30).

EFFECT: higher reliability of switching device and its service life, technical result of invention.
