FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to switching or contactor apparatuses (1) with high arc extinguishing capacity, in particular, for industrial and railway applications wherein high current must be activated and deactivated. The technical result is provided by the fact that the switching or contactor apparatus (1) comprises, in the body (10), a lower switching section (2) containing electrical switching means (35) of a drive low-voltage section (4) acting on the movable contacts (21, 22); a high-voltage section (5) containing said movable contacts (21, 22), driven towards each other and from each other relative to the relative position of the contact, wherein said movable contacts (21, 22) are installed on the corresponding contact ends of the elbow-lever mechanism (30) moved by means of the low-voltage drive section (4), and an upper arc-extinguishing section (3) covering said high-voltage section (5), wherein the hardware (40) is located near said movable contacts (21, 22) and influences the electric arc (29) occurring when currents are activated and deactivated by the movable contacts (21, 22) moving toward and from each other.

EFFECT: ensured arc-extinguishing capabilities of the apparatus when the contactor switches, including low currents.
