FIELD: chemistry; manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing product containing 60–75 wt % 5-alkyl salicyl aldoximes of formula 1, where R is C6-C16-alkyl group, which consists in the fact that p-alkylphenol, sodium hydroxide, chloroform and hydroxylamine are added to the water-alcohol solvent system, wherein relative to used alkylphenol sodium hydroxide and chloroform is used in amounts from stoichiometric amount to 100 % excess, and hydroxylamine is used in amounts from stoichiometric amount to 60 % excess, and reaction is carried out at temperature of 60–75 °C for 1.5–4 hours, and then at temperature of 20–30 °C postreaction mixture is acidified to achieve pH of water phase <7.0, and then the alcohol-water azeotrope is distilled with an admixture of unreacted chloroform, the residue is mixed with a neutral hydrocarbon solvent C5-C10, the layers are separated and the solvent is distilled from the organic phase.

EFFECT: disclosed is a method of producing 5-alkyl salicyl aldoxims and use thereof.
